
PURPOSE OF THE CLOSE PROTECTION UNIT STANDARDS
The purpose of these unit standards is to enable learners who are tasked with the
protection of designated persons, to plan and provide protection at venues including home, office, public places and while traveling.
The competencies in the following unit standards will enable a learner to assess harmful threats, whether physical or electronic, direct and indirect. Learners will be able to identify threats and risk and implement counter-measure for protection. These unit standards will also enable learners to review a protection operation in order to inform future actions and decisions within the close protection arena.
